Getting gold things made
1 Attachment(s)
Ok so Mrs Spugsy wants a nice birthday present, she wants something like this:
http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/item...rm=&omcid=SGE1 But as you can see it's $2k. Now obviously Tiffany is expensive and she's not that arsed and suggested getting it made over here from one of the Gold Souks. Has anyone had anything like this done and can anyone give me some advice of where to go and how much I would pay? Cheers all... |

Yep, Cara is the place to go. They'll charge you the going rate for gold and not much more. They have a deserved great reputation and I've used them for years.
Take in a photo of what you want, although they may have something similar in stock. |

go to Cara in the G&D park. Workmanship costs will be peanuts - and you can watch them work away in their rabbit warrens if you are really bored.
I'll drop in, it's next to my fitness place. |

Is that the place near MOE?
I'll drop in, it's next to my fitness place. Go to Cara, not Carla which is a shop next door (which I can't help thinking are a rip off). I was there last week - prices are only every-so-slightly negotiable but they are fair. Unlike the rest of the crooks in that place. |

Re: Getting gold things made
Cara's is the only place I would use. We bought our wedding bands there. Also I bought my mrs engagement ring and another ring from there. Anytime I'm passing, I pop in and they will polish my ring for free..fnar. Seriously, the give me a tin of coke while I wait and 15mins later...job done.
On our wedding day, they let my wife borrow over £10K's worth of diamond jewellery. No signing for anything, nothing. 'Yea, just return it before next weekend'.. That kind of service is the reason we go back and we tell our family and visiting friends to go there. Kiran can't write? Strange, he wrote a draft contract in front of my wife when they wanted her to come and work in cara's...(It was an ongoing joke between them that they would like a scottish girl to work in the shop as half the customers seem to be Scottish)...unless that wasn't him of course. Maybe a writing body double |

It's because you're all tight and won't go to a full price shop.
