Forget Dubai and AD!! It's time for the "Riyadh Night Out"....
Just to prove that we can have fun here too………
Sunday 13 July 2008.
Timetable:
6.30pm: Meet for pre-dinner drinks (Starbucks)
6.40pm: Leave Starbucks with drinks unfinished as it's prayer time and it has to close
7.10pm: Re-enter Starbucks for another round of drinks
7.30pm: Walk to Marhaba Restaurant where table is reserved
8.10pm: Having finished first course, leave restaurant just as main course is arriving as it's prayer time and it has to close
8.40pm: Return to restaurant to finish cold main course
9.00pm: Feast upon the 'Indian Delight' (Marhaba's speciality dessert of the day)
9.01pm: Ask for bill, feeling distinctly unwell
9.15pm: Walk back to Starbucks for final round of drinks, throwing up if necessary as appropriate
9.30pm: Wander out in search of exciting nightlife
9.35pm: Stop at faulty traffic light to enjoy exciting traffic jam
9.45pm: Go home

I've put all my other social engagements on hold (that's the gym, the compound restaurant... the gym) especially for this.
I haven't had Starbucks in a while. I hope it doesn't go to my head.

Ive never been to Saudi ive obviously heard about the compounds, v religious etc etc.... But what is the reality like ? How diferent is it to UAE ?
