Food Courts

Re: Food Courts
Okay, please don't slate me - but do you guys eat at those "takeaway" type shops. I was in Abu Dhabi last year and didn't get round to eating at one... but they kind of looked like Kebab shops (which I'm confident they probably were), they weren't in the Malls, just at the bottom of blocks of flats or office space.... Sorry if I'm making no sense!
Yes, I have an unhealthy lifestyle

Re: Food Courts
Haha, excellent. I'm coming back on Saturday for 2 weeks, and going to try a few out. Just wanted to see whether they're like a number of the ones we get around here - STAY AWAY. Ha!

Re: Food Courts
For me its straight to McDonalds, for Mr Moto its KFC, and we go to one of those places to get a portion of cheesy chips.......for quick food, if we want to take a bit more time we go to the Butchers Shop, or Sezzam........

I can honestly say that I have never eaten in a food court, they are "unlicensed"

Wow. MataHari is a junk food lover. I'm shocked.
KFC in this region is horrible. The chicken is just....eugh. Don't know why.
McDonalds is pretty poor.
BK is probably the best for consistency, although it's a constant battle to have them leave cheese off all my orders. IF I WANTED CHEESE I WOULD ASK FOR IT WITH CHEESE!!!

For me Burger King is better than McDs. I don't like food courts though - the lightening is usually like an operating theatre and the ones I have been to are noisy (chair scraping, screamimg kids etc). I like Fuddruckers in Al Wadha Mall, Abu Dhabi (just above the Food Court so a bit quieter)

Re: Food Courts
I found out that Mugg & Bean do great sandwiches, I ate one once about 3 weeks ago...
Last week, I decided to go again, to the one in that Bowling Centre in Al Quoz...I left the car in the petrol station next door for a wash, wore my suit jacket in the sweltering 42 degree heat, took my laptop bag and away I went walking the 300 metre stretch...
It's now 1215, I go in and Mugg and Bean is closed for business...I ask the guy at the juice place and he tells me "yesterday they had the closing party and they said they are closing for good"...
I had the choice of either bowling, or drinking juice, or walk, before properly cooling off, all the way back to the petrol station...
Arrived after 6-7 minutes, put the bag in, took off the jacket and got into the car, and was looking like Pamela Anderson in a wet tshirt contest; nipples erect and pouty lips...
Stopped at McDs after 15 minutes instead...

Hardess? Really?...I know McD's and BK aren't healthy by any stretch but when it comes to a Hardees burger you may as well tack it straight to your heart.
KFC I would never eat - that is just chemical waste in a bucket.

Re: Food Courts
'Tis as well the 'crockery' is white in Food Courts throughout the globe;as it's a close run thing between what's the burger and what's the plate???.In fact....
And do you noitce, some four hours or so after your visit, your hair doesn't let you forget you were there!!!!!
No, for me Food Courts have to go to Room 101.
