Default Films that wouldn't get made

Just watching Beverly Hills Cop and I love it for several reasons, a bit of nostalgia but also the slap stick comedy and lack of PC editing, so what films can you remember that wouldn't be made anymore or certainly not the same (due to the PC revolution).

Beverly Hills Cops 1, 2 and 3
Police Academy (all of them) ( I agree they shouldn't have all been made in teh first place)
E.T (come on a little brown alien)
The Goonies (disfigured special need monster- hmm)

What else has the PC brigade ruined?

You think the only reason Goonies would be made is the Special Monster? What about the fat kid promoting obesity? The token asian kid who is stereotypically bright and can't pronounce R's and L's? The hint of under age sex between the cheerleader and the older brother? Special kid being abused by his family? God, I could go on!

We might struggle with Monty Python films........or if we go to TV series as well, how about Mind Your Language? Classic TV!

Any history based movie made by the Americans should have been banned.

Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbour, The Patriot. All complete toss in terms of accuracy.

I hear you however the ones I mentioned were specifically based on a key event in history. Those war films you mention are, as far as i'm aware, not based on a key events but instead are general stories about the war. Full Metal Jacket is a completely different story altogether and is more about the soldiers and how they interact in the war more than the war itself. Great film though.

Not wouldn't have but shouldn't have been made:

The Sound of Music - the hills are alive with the sound of ... bleuugh!

Mary Poppins - Dick van Dyke's preposterous 'mockney' accent and 'A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go' bleuugh!

Don't forget the shockingly inaccurate U-571 in which the Americans capture an Enigma machine
