What makes you think that? Unless you think people should only listen to music relevant to their generation?

Reason I think that is that a large portion of their fans are of that age?
Much like Rod Stewart having a fan base mainly in their 50's.

People can listen to what they want, but generally people settle to music from an 'era' in their life..

gruyere tartlet anyone?

Actually. I think Blur's fanbase is pretty varied. Partly because they mixed up their musical styles and partly because they had a decade long career at the top.

I went to see them at the Astoria in 2003 and felt positively old. The majority of the people were much younger than me. Modern music (especially independent music) tends to have a pretty diverse and knowledgable fanbase who delve into the entire back catalogues of 'cool' artists they only caught the tail end of.

He doesn't just DJ, he was in the Housemartins and actually has produced a heck a lot of "dance" tunes over the last 10 years, great guy to go and see live, although Barasti wouldn't be my first choice in venue...

I think it would be good, dancing on the beach and that, almost like brighton....(in a sort of way, with way less drugs and gays....)

LOADS of stuff is great by then, the first album is great, 'bang' and 'theres no other way' is brilliant, even the last album they did, ambulance or something was pretty damn good.
