Champions in the Marriot near City Center West Bay . It will be jam packed though or Admirals Bar at The Ritz-Carlton.

Just upgraded my Du package over the phone.

Cancelled Al Jazeera 1-8 and added AJ 1-10 + a few other Jazeera sports ones.

Heavens know why it needed to be cancelled and re-added but it's to be expected.

AED 55 a month, bargain, all Euro games and a channel with English commentary. It's got to be too good to be true.

Similar with e-Life - an extra AED 39 per month, although they hadn't quite got the commentaries right last night, but said would be fine by today. Not ready for a tournament that has been on the calendar for ages? That is also to be expected.

I haven't actually paid much attention to any of it or the groups so far, so no predictions from me, but I am hoping that English show a better attitude under Hodgson. He's an educated man with a lot of European experience and should bring out the best in the team. No expectations of winning though.

I also hope there is zero tolerance for the appaling racism that has already been already been seen. I'd support any team that refuses to play if their players are getting excessive abuse. Bloody ignorant neanderthals. Proper football fans don't do that these days.

One of life's mysteries is how and why such poisonous hatred survives in the immediate vicinity of the scene of some of the worst atrocities in human history.

At least the England players are doing their bit - here is Henry Winter's brilliant and moving piece on the players' trip to Auschwitz yesterday. They were accompanied by ex-Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham boss Avram Grant whose connection with the place is almost impossible to comprehend.

I'll see Wayne Rooney in a different light from now on as well............

Still no English commentary on the HD channel. Two different Arabic commentators though. Great! And on the channel that has the English commentary the picture is rubbish and the commentary is out of sync...

The completely f****d up the World Cup a couple of years ago and now they are well on their way to doing the same with the Euros. Bloody amateurs!

British Ministers are to boycott England matches in Ukraine in the group stages of the tournament, but have not ruled out attending if the team qualifies for the latter stages.
Maybee England should lose early; wouldn't want to embrass the Ministers.

I hope so. The non-HD pic isn't great. I ended up watching the Holland game on mute. Was better than watching it with commentary miles out of sync.

very moving account of the trip.

Rooney and the others deserve respect for taking the time to attend. Not easy to focus on football after such an experience - especially as the easier option was to stay at the hotel and lord it up.
