However, surely only the oil-rich Sheiks can afford the AED 5,000 plus they want. Seems like a dangerous way to earn a living. I've heard tales of a girl being driven back to a client's villa only to find 4-5 other guys (invariably Arabs) waiting to join in. Also, CID entrapment is becoming increasingly common.

It's mainly the culture...sorry to say so, you rarely find Western guys here abusing women like Arabs do. Yes, we may occasionally use women but rarely abuse them. Did you read the story of the Dubai policemen running a brothel in Sharjah? Having lived in Saudi for 8 years, some of the stories I have heard of women getting raped would make you cringe. Anyway, thats just my point of view. I also know very many charming and respectful Arab guys who treat a woman like a princess. Only the bad apples get reported I guess.

funnily enough the US and israeli media portray arab men has wife beaters yet the percentage per head of domestic violence in either of those countries far exceeds any arab country

that might possibly be because they are reported to the police more in those countries than in Arab counries where women's rights are not exactly the strongest!
