Entertainment Weekly's All-Time Top 100 TV Shows
EW (no - not THAT EW!!! ) is an American publication, so there is obviously a bias in that direction, but it's not a bad list. (This is actually from Ricky Gervais's website - he reposted it because The Office is up there - regarded as the best show ever to come out of the UK, in fact, in this list)
Can't argue with the No 1 - but what the hell is Cosby doing so high (we've mentioned him before)? Why do Americans like him so much? I suppose it is because The Cosby Show 'dared' to focus on a wealthy black family.............

ANY list with Buffy in the top 10 is no longer valid!!!
and I think the Crosby show is considered the pioneer in sitcom genre i.e. live audience, off the hip etc etc. I might be wrong though

I see no Fresh Prince of Bel Air and no Waltons on the list; clearly list is BS.

Me, I'd have Frasier above Cheers - a spin-off, yes, but the scripts were better and the characters more rounded somehow.

What about "Soap" -only at #52 - that was groundbreaking for the time.

Absolutely Fabulous at No 3 in the British list - never really 'got' Absolutely Fabulous myself, I always found the characters simply annoying.
