The Elephant in the Room..World Cup 2022

Re: The Elephant in the Room..World Cup 2022
Details, details. Tsk.
Although it won't be as thick as the smoke screen which FIFA have created. Who's going to stand up to them? I'm contemplating starting a fund, funded by donations and held in escrow, payable to any whistle-blower who leaks the report. There must be a few people in the position of leaking who'd do it for a couple of hundred thousand whatevers.

(now you have at least one to put in your fund)

With all the money that Qataris have they couldn't resolve a simple problem of slave labour.
Apparently labourers in Zimbabwe are treated far better and have more rights than these so called western educated, sophisticated ,westernised (Muslim) Arabs.

Distancing themselves from any possible fallout, or simply giving the bird to Qatar?

You'd expect so...looks like it's not going away though. Rumours that Sony will stop sponsorship too.
Then again, I doubt FIFA or Qatar give a shit as some other sponsor will step in, maybe Ooredoo

We should all give up soccer and watch cricket and baseball instead.

FIFA is a joke. You gotta be a corrupt country happy to build new stadiums at any cost in order to win:
2010 South Africa
2014 Brazil
2018 Russia
2022 Qatar
At least, the Olympics do a mix of developed and developing countries
2008 China
2012 UK
2016 Brazil
2020 Japan

"But one of the ironies is if the FA have complied with the requests for evidence they stand to be damned, whereas people who have not complied and not provided evidence cannot be criticised."
The 2022 World Cup can not be anything other than a monumental **** up.
Thousands of fans on the piss - they just won't be able to cope.
I doubt Blatter cares much at all as he'll either have died or be in a nursing home.
Unfortunately there is just too much money involved in football nowadays...Qatar being a prime example. Other than sponsoring European clubs for obscene amounts of money, what has that nation and it's population of a few hundred thousand contributed to football to be worthy of holding the tournament (and have Andy Gray and Richard Keys presenting on BeIN Sports doesn't count).

Even Jony Ive would struggle with the level of creativity needed for this.
