Early start to Ramadan
#1
My friends just got a call from the Ivy that brunch on Friday is cancelled due to the fact that Ramadan will be called tomorrow evening.
Have the UAE moved the moon or is this due to another event such as a passing away?

Nothing else for it, I'm going to the pub to see if they know anything

We're told Sat/Sun here , i'm out tomorrow night and got an email off the hotel saying it's full normal bar service.

Seems strange to me CDB. I mean the moon is where it is which makes me believe (if it's true) it must be another reason.

Oman has declared already (omg - like, seriously, I mean, I know!) that it will start form morning prayers on Sunday 29th June
But.... all booze stores closed as of end of business Thursday, and all bars closed as of Friday 24:00

We're going to Hilton brunch and that is still on as of last night.

29th has been announced here hasn't it? We're brunching tomorrow and it's still on.
I could be cynical and suggest it's unlikely to be called earlier in Dubai due to potential revenue loss over the weekend. Most decent brunches seem to be fully booked.
