Dubai del sol?
I initially went there with the idea to escape white trash from the UK. But even though I was on the Palm, there were two fat tattood scousers, sharing half a brain in the pool. This made me wonder is Dubai going to suffer from the Brit disease too? Is it going to become another cheap holiday resort full of Brits with square heads and teeth missing?

Don't know who AA is, yes I'm white middle class. I was wondering if you thought Dubai would become degentrified, or something like Blackpool in the Middle East.

I think MOE has become some kind of temple for chavvery.
Everywhere you look there are 7 month pegnant men with chelsea shirts stretched over their guts, with wives who looks like trophy models from an elizabeth duke catalogue towing kids dressed like crack whores. Our no1 export apparently. It is enough to bring you to tears. |

I live in Sharjah and I must say the people in the shopping centres here are so much more respectful than in Dubai. They appear to have more dignity and maybe it's because of the no alcohol rule, that by not actively encouraging the kind of people Mr Moleskins so eloquently described means that these individuals will stay well clear of us.
Now, next step, sorting out the locals with the dodgy polo caps and wandering bluetooths.... |
