The nice thing about humans is that we all change over time, our thoughts and understanding of the world evolve beyond the scope of any book.
We shouldn't expect ourselves to be rigid and unchanging, although we seek stability in our lives it seems to me to be discoveries (new and rediscovered) that allows us to feel happy. Hence humans have this obsession with discovery. We are simply not content without mental stimulation so the future of humanity, as it always has been, is a perpetual motion towards a greater understanding. No body of knowledge is a complete understanding of everything or even comes close.
