these two fûcking nitwits turned up, didn't know what to do, rang their mates about a hundred times asking for advice and after 2 hours I now have:
tv in one room, they forgot the other box, and they couldn;t figure out how to get broadband or landline working.

I got a sales call from Du yesterday...

"For only 100 dhs more per month you could get broadband 4x faster than I currently have"

I said I'd be interested if it was 4x as fast but 100 dhs cheaper. The woman told me this was not possible, but asked if there was anything else she could help with before hangng up.

No chance am I going to pay the guts of 80 quid a month for 8mb broadband!

Because Du and Etisalat are not allowed to compete directly on prices....hence it's a two company monopoly.

My sis pays less than half of what I do back in the UK for faster internet that I get here - go figure!

I signed up to 0.5mb/s about 4 years ago. 2-3 months back, without warning, I suddenly started getting 8mb/s, and still am.

Of course I kept quiet, I thought some fat-fingered admin guy might have pushed the wrong button on my account. But everyone I know in the building is getting the same now.
