Re: DLSR's
Sony A7ii. Comes with built in image stabilization in camera body.
Ordered one on Amazon in August when the camera and lens went for $998. But received the wrong camera from seller.
Going to get this very soon

Re: DLSR's
Thanks all.
In the end I went with the Canon EOS M50. It came in around 2,100 dibs with a tripod, 16Gb SD card, cleaning kit and a bag. Lady threw in another freebie 64Gb SD card. Points came to 1,950 dibs so 150 dibs to me. Boom. I was looking at the Sony a6000 but after reading a few online comparisons with the Canon I decided to plump for that.
I then went home and spent another 1,000 dibs on amazon..... extra batteries, a telephoto lens, small grabby tripod thingy etc etc....
At least I have a decent set up now for relatively small money.
I do get your points DXB and mostly agree but we have 2 weeks self driving around Namibia and so can move at our own pace. Will be nice to put on time lapses of the sky at night, take some epic landscape shots etc. I'm not expecting the wildlife pics to be much cop but you never know.

A fun little gadget to get is a remote control - handy for selfies and also for night shot long exposures where your finger on the shutter can make the camera wobble and thus blur the image.
