Dior sacks John Galliano
Massive news in the fashion industry- don't know if anyone cares on here but anyway heres teh link.
Galliano was filmed on phone in a bar saying "I love Hitler' and 'People like you would be dead today - your mothers, your forefathers would be gassed." directed at a Jewish woman and an Indian friend drinking at a table next to him in a Paris bar.

The fashion world is full of odd people, many of whom sincerely believe that the size of a lapel or length of a hemline are genuinely important. Sure the industry makes money, but important, no. (No offence meant kittycat - you are really quite sane for your industry!)
Galliano, or Gullen to give him his real surname, has been feted for years and treated like a mini god, so it seems to have gone to his head. He's an idiot for behaving like this and his comments are offensive to masses of people, many of whom are in a position of power. I think the technical term for him now is a twunt.
Anyway, if you want to talk meltdowns then Charlie Sheen is a bigger train wreck!

Re: Dior sacks John Galliano
He's one of the most influential people in the fashion industry- one of the most talented and creative designers in history. He's been head designer at Dior for 15 years and has his own fashion house as well- massive shock to the industry, obviously as talented as he is he has put a noose around his own neck, I'm not sure how anyone could recover from such remarks, however the same was said about Kate Moss when she was caught snorting coke, and Michael Jackson when he was up on kiddyfiddling charges.

Ethos- Weird isn't the right word- eccentric!
Google the following!
Vivienne Westwood
Zandra Rhodes
Karl Lagerfeld
Donatella Versace
Victor and Rolf
Jean Paul Gaultier
Betsey Johnson
Chantel Thomas
Johnny Blueeyes from The House of Blue Eyes
I could go on!
All on the quirky side to say the least! All fabulous though.

Seems Galliano has been whipped off to rehab and faces prosecution!
After news broke that John Galliano was heading to rehab in order to help treat his alcohol problem – a factor that contributed to last Thursday’s events – the situation now seems far worse than once thought, as the former Christian Dior creative director could now face imprisonment for his alleged racial crimes.
Last night, Sky News announced that the Paris Prosecutors Office has decided to put Galliano on trial to face the alleged racial accusations made against him.
The formal proceedings are set to take place in the second quarter of the year, which means the outcome of the trial won’t be known for at least a few more months. But if the designer is subsequently found guilty, Galliano could face six months imprisonment or fined €22,500 (£19,085), reports Vogue UK.
