I've been a non-smoker now for almost 20 years and I don't miss it one bit. Oh have you read the book? Yeah i wrote on the calender yesterday morning "i am a non smoker". The night before i had my last one and chucked out all the cigs here (which was over 200) and i didn't care which was good coz i would never had done that before! Yes i am a non smoker! Mrs H |

i hate smoking. it kills you...end of story..

Thanks Commander  Your no use to your kids if at 45 you are wired to a machine pissing yourself.. especially when your kids may be early teenagers etc. there are enough things in life that can unwittingly kill you, i just dont get how people who know the facts still persist... and i know the answer is 'addiction' but come on.... im addicted to sex, but i never get any:D |

Re: Did/do you smoke?
I smoke and I like it! I don't think I am addicted to it though, as I can easily go three or more days without a ciggies without a problem. I just can't not smoke when out drinking or meeting up with other smokers (most of my friends). I never smoke at home and hate the smell in my house, so I'm something of a hypocrite. Fortunately, I do not look old & wrinkled nor do I have yellow teeth!
I read Alan Carr's first book and it was SO dull. Just didn't work for me as I don't have a nicotine addiction. I know that smoking is bad for me, but I have never been a 20 a day smoker and usually only get through 20 a week. Sorry, but I am not much use in helping anyone quit, but I do think that you can only do so if you really really want to. - |

I smoke :( and yes I would love to give it up. I have heard good things about this book, stick with it. If you want a cigarette go and brush your teeth, this worked for a friend of mine, she hasn't had one in nearly 8 years now.

Hi,
I just wondered if any of you guys smoke? want to stop? or if you did smoke and don't anymore? I've been reading Allen Carr and i'm on day 2 of no smoking. Yesterday was fine. Mr H was here and we were out and about so it was fine but today i'm by myself and struggling a bit. I'm determined to stop this time. I'm 32 and i've smoked since i was 13. Thats nearly 20 years of smoking! I'm fed up being reliant on it and it's getting more and more unsociable. Even in Dubai i notice a difference since i got here. Anyway any advice or tips to maybe make it a bit easier would be great much appreciated!:) Mrs H |

I'm pretty lucky coz i look younger than i am (well so everyone says) and i don't have any wrinkles YET! but for how long?! Thing that got me was Allen Carr said in his book he was coughing up blood etc and his wife was really worried about his health and she has put up with him stinking, spending money on cigs etc and how would he feel if it was the other way round. It just got me thinking if it was Mr H (he hates smoking) who smoked and i didn't, how would i be?! It is just common sense! Also says in the book it's easier if your intelligent! Makes me even more determined! Don't want to be a thicko all my life! Thanks Eva coz it defo helps to hear all this! Mrs H x That will make you look old. |
Re: Did/do you smoke?
Yeah it wouldn't be so bad if i was a "social smoker" but i've never been able to do that.
I would say i was addicted really quickly. I was even late for classes at school so i could have a smoke! Shocking i know! None of my mates in Dubai smoke so it should make it easier. Anyway i'm done with it. Thanks for all the help folks I'll keep you posted how i'm getting on! Mrs H |
