Credit Card question
Hi,
I decided to get a credit card to make my life easier regarding online booking and to accumulate a few airline miles. I got all the forms and after filling in, the bank asked me to sign a blank cheque as a "security measure" given the recent events. Is that normal? Anyone was asked the same? I decided not to do it as the last thing I would like to do is to spend some time in jail here if something goes wrong.
Cheers,

It is now common practice for banks to request that. Alternatively if the CC is from the main bank you use, they may ask you to keep a minimum balance in the account to cover the credit limit.

Thanks all for your feedback. This is with Emirates bank and they said is a NEW proceedure. I decided to not sign the cheque and offer to keep a minimum balance as Meow suggested. We will see...
