A place is as boring as you make it.

We went to Iran to ski outside Tehran - can't remember name but trying to forget the whole experience................

You go up in cable cars to the hotel and then this is the bit I wasn't told - we then transferred to a chair lift to get down to the hotel. Chair lift only operates in daylight hours - so your stuck in this god awful hotel with terrible food and NO BEER imagine.

The hotel is at so many feet high(can't take in this important info) that hubby and kids from other family get sick from altitude.
Thank god we only went for a few days.

I can see why the Iranian's like Dubai so much

crappest ever was mauritius...monsieur medusa managed to book it in cyclone season, the muppet, and we ended up being stuck there for 2 extra days cos flights were stopped due to the cyclone and there was a curfew so you couldn't even leave the hotel room...not fun with 2 young kids, no tv, and no internet access...

many moons ago, Loch Lommond for a week, it pissed down almost non stop and when it did stop the midges were a ****ing nightmare.......beautiful place, havent been back camping since.

Have to agree, I went to Turkey once many years ago, after going to Greece for years before that (which I love) , and absolutely hated the place, the people and everything about it.....

mind you, my worst holiday was one as a kid......a wet week in a caravan in Canvey Island takes some beating I can tell you !

One of Jeff King's caravans? You poor bastard. Canvey Island was in GQ's "10 most dangerous islands in the world" and if you've spent much time with the locals, you'll know why.

The place I went to in Turkey was Olu Deniz. Looked amazing in the photos but Turkey up close in just grim. Agree with you about Greece - there is no comparison.

On the Ibiza front I first went in 1992 and worked there for a Summer in 95. The feeling in '95 was that it was on it's way down bigtime and had got too cheesily commercial. That year Cafe del Mar was next door to a Club 18-30 hotel and in my opinion, the place was overhyped and full of what we now know to be chavs but at the time we classified as Brits on the piss/pills. I think there are far better places to go for a week of clubbing, sun and debauchery......

if you want to have a real crap holiday than go to Tunesia! Not to the Island Djerba, no, stay at a Hotel on the mainland, and even better, outside the season.

Resume: Hotel=crap, food=crap, service=crap, hospitality=crap, people=more than crap, country=crap & dirty, rubbish everywhere, tourism attractions=crap, just everything=crap

On the arrival at the Hotel we have been threatened with police because we didn't want to give the hotel guy our passports ...

And here something special for the ladies ... want to see wanking arabs at the corniche while you a sitting at the beach in a swimsuit? Then definately go for it ...

We took the travel agent to the court because we claimed around 30 points (including sexual assault to a woman in the lobby bar which was the meeting point for a group of locals) and got back approx. 80% of the travel cost + cost for early flight back home. Unfortunately I couldn't claim for the scare on my soul ...

So, you can see, even the judge said ... just crap.
