98% of positions advertised for schools since March are to start in the new August/September academic year.
Show me the jobs (2 will do), that are currently available for a Jan or Apr 09 start for a Teacher.

Generally the only vacancies that will come up for either Jan or Apr 09, will be for new teachers that have not seen what they have liked and 'done one', for maternity leave or some other crisis of absence. Virtually all of which will be approached nearer the time (as most are not even forseen at this stage) and not before the schools finish for the academic year at the end of June.

Their decision to move here in Jan/Apr 09 may not be a wise one, due to the low amount of vacancies that will be available for starts at those times. As we all know, contracts for schools are September to August.

But that won't chnage whether they come out here right now for a weeks visit, or their planned week at the end of August. The advice to them at the moment really should be - look for a Sep 09 move here.

In fact being here at the start of the new term and putting their face and CV around the schools is a better one than doing it before the end of this academic year.
