I am an American that lived in Dubai for 6 yrs and have to leave due to recession and left things behind... I was married there and divorced there as well. My questions are.... what will happen to me because I left some bills there and I feel bad about it... It was for around 40,000 dhs and as well I left my residence visa opened. I did the "Terminal 3" thing....
Will my employer still be able to hire somebody? I left there close to 3 months ago and I just needed to leave because I was scared about the "Jail" thing....
My friends and family suggested that I should leave....
Suggestions and help please.....

You probably did the right thing. Unless you want to return here, I would simply put the whole episode down to a bad experience and start off anew.

I am??? Where do you live? Honestly, what should I do? Should I take this as an experience and move on ?
I know what I did was very irresponsible and I hate what I did.
It has been on my mind since I came back home. There are a few people that I have heard about that did this but they took advantage of a lot of things like sports cars and nice huge homes and etc.
My main concern was my employer and if she can stil hire another person.
What would the worst thing that could happen? If I did go back, I would be in a bad situation.
I would definately work hard and save $ for this situation. I wonder what others who went thru this is thinking about......
I just need somebody to chat with because this is not a nice topic to just talk about.
Sorry if I sound crazy

If you come you might be thrown in jail.

I will definately move on and take this as an experience. I loved Dubai so much and had a very good life. It was my divorce that made it worst and as well as the recession.
I just needed to talk it out and ask for advise because I know no one who has been thru this but has only heard of them. I was not happy about it when I heard about the others and then when it was my time, I did make the decision and do regret it.
Will my Residence Visa just expire in a few months?
This will be a new beginning for me and a lesson taught. It was not my goal and\or theres as well to just AWOL.......
People at home that know takes me as a "wow" factor..... This will definately stay on my conscience for a very long time.
In a way, it's like a bankruptcy ..... I guess
