jezza is a shortened version of Jeremy. in Aus plenty of Jeremys will answer to Jezza on a day to day basis 
Same with Bazza for Barry, Shazza for Sharon.......

I like the show, I like Clarkson. But the whole episode is being dragged out and is garnering far too much attention. Shit happens. Things change. People move on. Companies adapt and realign, or don't and fail.
The only interesting part is whether this is a defining event in terms of the licence fee.

It's just a TV show. Top Gear will survive- it probably will do well with a refresh of the format.
Jezzer, Jizzer or Jazzer will move on, probably doing some shit sky show - Like Grant Mitchell doing 'Worlds toughest".
I really don't think Clarkson cares. It's not going to change his life much.

He lives in the same village as the prime minister, the prime minister says clarkson is far more famous than him (said in their butchers shop) and the prime ministers daughter has threatened togo on hunger strike if the beeb dont reinstate him. Could anyone buy publicity like that....

Nb its not just clarkson, all 3 of them, their contracts end at the end of this month anyway, top gear on another channel is a real possibility.

The BBC has just (14:00hrs UK time) confirmed that his contract won't be renewed ., ie they've sacked him.
