I'm off for a well needed dose of it.
Only escape I've had in 8 months was Egypt so it'll be nice to see the real world again.
Enjoy eid folks

Good for you, I am sure you will be terribly missed by the Arab world!! But I have absolutely no shred of doubt that you will definitely come back, at any cost!!

Have fun, Shiva. I'm off to Sicilia with the bambinos myself next week - not sure whether it is more or less civilized than these sceptred isles. Have a great holiday.

4 days until I'm in the Costa del Angus. Cant wait.
Mind you, no Hamdan 50m pool, no 85k dedicated cycle track for safely riding, however there is unlimited fresh air for country runs and walks with the family.
Oh, and the nice change of popping into the local for a couple of pints and walking out with change from a fiver.

The cities are quite frenetic and without the chic of the mainland--it came across to me as much simpler. Fabulous wine (we bought ours in squishy water bottles directly from the small-scale vineyards, for a couple of Euros a litre), together with local fare; rusticity at its best. Great beaches, too. The whole family really enjoyed it.
