Christmas Plans?

Morning you bunch of cheery bored-based-buggers.

What are you all doing for the festive holidays? Are you getting time off?

Staying or flying elsewhere?

I'm off at 2am tonight/tomorrow morning and don't mind admitting that I can't wait to see my Mummy at the airport. Been a long hard year at work and looking forward to some quality family time and a few days out of the madness that is Dubai.

However, work have been most kind to dump a barrel load of shite in my lap yesterday so today's early finish and work beers is looking like a challenge. "Can we have a report that would take you weeks to do overnight please Scamp?"...err, no, sorry...."Thanks for the quick response, unfortunately it was wrong, so please send it by lunch on Thursday".

GULP.

We'll be here. I love the weather in Dubai this time of year. Lots of invitations, plenty of relaxing and playing with my new kitten.

Indeed, it's glorious. We spent a day at Safa Park last weekend and was perfect rounders weather.

It was a bit more long winded than that to be honest, but the short version it basically what it said.

Was due to fly last night for two weeks 'mit den Familien' but visa expiry and non-renewal due to non-cancellation of no-longer-required daughter's visa ( still with me? ) meant that I would not have been allowed back again............ so - long queues and whatever at various official places meant cancelling flight, and rebooking it for Friday night......... phew............

I need a break........... in every sense............ have a good one everybody......

Leaving Sunday for 2 or 3 weeks back in the emerald isle, 50% chance of going skiing at some point if the opportunity arises. 100% chance of taking part in the annual new year's forestry motorbike race crash-athon.
Other spare time will be spent with family and friends, hopefully with a elbow resting against long wooden counter hoisting back Guinness.

Happy Christmas to everyone and happy new year

Spent 5k on mine a few years back after he fell out of a tree- hip surgery. He was half shaved and had the light shade on the head for a bit of amusement for the money. Had to have him put down last NYE due to cat cancer. Only 3 and v healthy looking but I'd have had to keep getting his lungs emptied. Still many others queuing to take his place in our hearts. Feed 4 at the mo.

We have three looking for homes at the moment, all were stray kittens now all soppy things that live outside but are desperate to be inside!

Say what you want about Dubai duty free ( and I often do considering it's more expensive than shopping in Dubai) but 44% of original staff retained for 30 years and 1.8 billion in sales is pretty phenomenal

Our new one eyed monster finally met the resident cat last night, Slept in her house, Ate her food then took a shit in her litter - All with the arrogance of a frenchman. Resident cat took it pretty well.

I am now not looking at any facebook groups or websites putting cute pictures of cats up for adoption..........2 is enough for me.

Back to the UK on Monday. Get in!!! Very excited, missed my mummy loads and can't wait to get my beautiful English cats out of this dusty pit and back to the cold green grass of England. Yay! Eta - mother is pulling out the stops for Xmas dinner. Sod the turkey, it'll be leg of lamb, shoulder of pork and a roast gammon. And any other pork product you can think of.

That's what I said. Currently have two uk cats, one saudi cat we've adopted that will be moving with us when we finally return to the uk, two more rescues that I'm getting adopted, and then approx 15 in the garden. It's never bloody ending. Although have got all but three neutered so there shouldn't be any more additions (inshallah...)

You are flying your cats back for a few weeks? Is that not stressful for them?

No, flying them back for good. If I had had any clue at all how appalling it was out here in terms of health and vet care I'd never have taken them out here in the first place. Husbands not too impressed either... Expensive 5 month holiday for them....

Went to Melbourne for 5 nights, now on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. Spending Xmas snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. Then off to Sydney for 7 nights. NYE at Matt Moran catered event on the boulevard alongside the Opera House facing the bridge - champagne free flow.

Here is a photo I took yesterday:-

Yes - I'll cock off now...
