iPods, macs, Playstations, digi cameras etc etc - they all seem the same price over here as back home.

i remember coming here in the early 90's and stereos (3D superwoofers) were about half the price than in the uk...

changed days indeed....


and who can forget the Thomson Originals..........

They were fake tapes that they used to sell all over UAE and the ME in general..I remember a massive shop called musicland in Bur Dubai just opposite the KFC that was full of TO's...

Good quality they were...and about 1.99 a tape....bargain!!

6 for 10 dhs, remember them well. The good thing was that you got different compilations of standard albums, always made them a bit 'different'

I've still got a load of them which still work when the originals I bought in th UK have jumped the shark!
I remember some of the old Thomsons would have random filler songs at the end- your Stereo MC's album would end and as there was 15 minutes left they would put 3 Celine Dion songs in!

i was just about to post the same....

Deacon Blue raintown would end and a few Fergal Sharkey songs would appear..
