Not me, never set foot in Karama while I lived in Dubai, bought one fake handbag near the Gold Souk because it was the only way I could get out of the blasted place my friend had followed some men into to buy sunnies and bags. I had my kids with me and just wanted to get out of the place after they'd locked the doors.
I only buy things if I like them, whether that means they're designer label or from the local Kmart. I spend too much on ballet lessons, shoes, leotards, violins, cellos, etc, etc, etc to be able to afford to buy anything much of myself anyway.

So X company wants product produced for next to nothing. Lets say they produce for 10 to the company and they sell at 50, Production company can sell to counterfeiters directly for 20(they then sell for 30). Cheaper product and production company makes double for same production. Also any quality failed stuff goes this direction too.

I don't believe the fake stuff comes from the same factories as the real stuff.
* Friend had a fake iPhone. It was lighter, had a smaller screen, and worked like crap. Apple's production lines aren't set up to produce screens of a different size.
* Long, long ago I bought a fake LV golf bag in Korea. Very evidently made from inferior materials.
* My kids like to go to Karama when they visit (they never buy anything, Officer), and you can see straight off that wallets, belts and sunglasses are made from materials different from the real stuff--why would they even have those materials in the genuine factories?
* My kids have some fake watches--no way these came from the factories of Breitling, Rolex and so on.
* My girlfriend has these wonderful, pert, firm...
