Default Bruno Metsu

Dead at 59, from cancer.

Well known locally as probably the best coach the UAE ever had, he will remain better known globally for coaching Senegal to the World Cup quarter-finals in 2002.

As a non football fan even I knew his name! Will never forget when the UAE won the Gulf Cup in 2007 - j***s they roared up and down the Beach Rd in Dxb for 2 days solid. The cr*p (sparkly stuff) was still on the streets in Ajman 2 weeks later, they were still celebrating! (It was like when they got to the World Cup, can't remember how many years ago that was - they went wild!) So sad though he was only 59, much, much too young.
