Blockbuster Movies
Has anyone been to see the Indiana Jones movie? How about The Hulk, Iron Man or Prince Caspian? Poor reviews for The Happening though...

Re: Blockbuster Movies
Right and we never buy fake Rolex watches do we? With the DVD ladies, you get what you pay for. After a few plays, they invariably stop/jump or worse...and the picture quality is usually crap. However, if the quality improves (as it usually does with movies that have been in circulation a few months), why not buy from them?

you're happy to reduce cinematic art that someone has either lovingly crafted with years of training and writing and technical know how to bring you 2 hours of escapist pleasure OR spent $200m to look amazing and blow you away with special effects... yet you've happy to pay 10dhs to some dodgy person that comes to your door and offers a choice of the latest "hits" (or indeed porn) and you are happy to put up with fuzzy, jumping crap that cuts off 5 mins before the end... just to save a few fils... and give the profit to at the least a slave driver (you think the DVD lady has a great life on the profits?) or at worst a really dodgy criminal with potential terrorist links (alarmist maybe - but it has been known)...
I think my main problem with it is I really enjoy and value cinema and have a pretty good TV and PS3 set up to really appreciate the feature - a crappy copy is just that a crappy waste of time... give me back those 2 hours I wasted, I don't care about the 10dhs...
each to their own...
