Default BBC iPlayer problems

My BBC iPlayer has started to play up this week. It has lost all downloaded programs etc a few times. I have totally removed and reinstalled a few times and each time the programs are lost following download when I close iPlayer and return to view . It is a newish laptop with Windows 7.

My internet at my hotel in Doha is not good and I rely on downloading at work and watching at night! This rules out watching live.

Is anyone else having problems with it. Has the BBC managed to get round vpns? I doubt they can but you never know..

aargh - no idea. ours cr*ps out all the time (MacBook, iOS 10.6.8, updated adobe flash) and have tried two different vpn services. it connects to the internet via wifi, and I do wonder if that is the problem.

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling if you connect to the app without the VPN on, it deletes it. That might be the cause.

Also a MAC user. Everything was fine until I updated Adobe Air a few days ago.
Everything I had in iPlayer disappeared. Now I can't d/l any programmes to watch at my leisure, but I can stream via a VPN so it's not that big a deal, more of a pain in the b*tt.

It maybe sounds like the adobe air update may have caused problems. I had no problem before this update. I only ever connect iPlayer with VPN on, but it is still causing problems.

I wonder if the update to adobe air notes it is out of UK and logs this in some way. It is my work laptop so I cannot always have on VPN. I have a MacBook, but I use that for surfing the net while watching TV. May have to swap around and try with that.

We, too, only ever connect to iPlayer with the vizzle thing connected. Is it possible for the Adobe Air thing to know that you are out of UK if you are using it whilst using a UK IP address?

We have a MacMini which is our TV server and we only updated Adobe Air on this. We also have a MacBook Pro and we didn't update Adobe Air on this and we can still download BBC iPlayer so - we can stream off our TV via the Mac Mini or we can download and watch later on our MacBook Pro.

I know, it's belt and braces but it works for us so far

I thought the iplayer has moved away from Flash to HTML5?

The BBC link does not work. You have to downgrade to this version of adobe air - 3.4.0.2540.

http://http://www.oldapps.com/adobe_...adobe_air=8210

Now works for me again corectly and Doha seems so much brighter again!
