Australian journalist Peter Greste has been deported from Egypt after 400 days behind bars, and has flown to Cyprus on his way home to Australia.

Al Jazeera mentioned this on every news bulletin, from detention until release. Good for them

And Mohammed Fahmy is due to be released, too. But he's had to renounce his Egyptian nationality in order for this to happen:

I think if your country asks you to renounce its nationality then I curse that country and it deserves all the s**t that its getting now!

I don't think Egypt is getting any shit to be honest. The west and all the banks are backing the new government and the money is flowing in nicely again.

Well tbh I do agree with on the economic front as the new government wants to keep the Israelis happy, hence the new west money flowing in etc
I was referring to their civil problems actually. Sinai to be specific. But having said that I do not know the insights to that area.
