And that is interesting, because after that the Aussies with Bradman turned things around only to see those cheating bloody Poms invent bodyline bowling.

Wasn't Bradman playing in The Oval Test in 1938 where England won by an innings and 579 runs?

Root to smash 200 and then we'll declare if it's about tea-time.

Swann to take 5 wickets again. All over by the end of today :fingerscrossed:

Well, completely wrong and completely right...Root didn't get 200 and Swann only took 4 wickets.

Root was allowed to go for 200 and when he only added 2, we declared.

Thank goodness for the extra half hour, Swann took the last wicket with 4 balls to spare.

His record is a bit hard to knock though.
Good to see Joe Root get a ton at Lords, great way to start his career.

Yes and no - he was included in the team (he was captain, in fact) but he (and Jack Fingleton) got injured and didn't bat in either innings - so Australia batted twice with only nine men.

Finn and Onions dropped for the squad for the 3rd test.

And in comes Taylor, Panesar and Tremlett.

Predictions?

Yep. I hope he isn't out for too long. He was excellent last season.

Jeez, things certainly quietened down in this thread.

Is that because the only English bloke who pulled his finger out this test is just a Saffer anyways?
