It's that "Brits in the UAE" report you've all been waiting for............ Dubai is as dangerous as Mexico, South Africa and Jamaica, you know.....

The Gulf state arrested 217 British tourists and expatriates between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2010, down from 265 arrests in the same period a year earlier.

I notie that the resident brits number quoted was 100k again. I thought the FCO had downgraded it to 50k? There was a thread a while back..
I'd also like to know what the conviction rate was and the role of the automobile in the deaths and hospitalisation.

No one knows what the population statistics are for the UAE except the powers that be, and they aren't releasing them for whatever reason.
What's the actual population of Dubai? Can anyone tell me? I've heard anything from 1.5 to 2 million. Big range, isn't it?
