Default Are All Arab Birds Stupid?

We are getting bombarded with all sorts of warbling and twittering birds, some of which are very pretty, especially the tiny sunbirds. As we also have stray cats in abundance, we decided to move the breadcrumbs from the ground and fabricate a hanging platter type device on the tree outside. How come the bloody birds are ignoring it? If this was the UK the sparrows, tits and starlings would be all over it. Are the birds here mentally deficient?

Birds don't actually like breadcrumbs, if it's the sort of bread that has yeast in it.

Try bits of ripe/rotten fruit.

Deanfact:

Never put cheese in a mousetrap - they will usually ignore it. They are addicted to chocolate so use that.

isn't chocolate bad for mice? (yes, i'm aware of the fact that it's in a trap and you're trying to kill them... ) but i thought it was the same for mice as dogs (ie. chocolate = no-more-rover)
