Not to discount or downplay the horrors of the Raj , like the Bengal famine but Pakistan especially would be better for: minorities , secularists, women and neighbouring nations if Britain had stayed put. India too could have greatlly progressed if Britian ran the show. What have the elites in both nations done towards the historically opressed after Independence?? India has made a few progressive steps but still far too little and far too late. Both natons are run by unabashed sociopaths.
The annexation has already started so to speak.
Karachi wants independence and the ruling MQM party outrightly states itself as Indian.
Baluchistan and the North territories want to be part of the 'soon to be ruled by Pashtun' Afghanistan, just waiting for the septics to run away like every war they have fought since ww2
Punjab is awash with true hard core fanaticsm and would probably implode soon enough
The only thing holding it together were 2 immovable forces, the seminary and the Army and the factors that want strife have managed to make these two go against each other in actual civil war
So its either the crown that invades and takes it all back or I say tender the whole thing to the chinese
