Buying an apartment building in St Lucia .
Hi all ! We are considering buying an apartment building or guest house , my main concern is gaining a visa , i understand an alien landowners licence does not give residency , so would a work permit be granted for us to be self employed , would letting our own apartments be considered employment ? We would probably buy the building first and stay in the uk for a bit until we have sold our other property , but would like the option to move over later , who should i call in an official capacity for advice / forms etc . Visas give me the heebie jeebies !! Also does anyone have any advice on preferable letting areas on the island ? Many thanks for any help , aspecially if PGTips is out there ( seems very knowledgeable ! )

Hi Evie202,
I would suggest you call the St Lucia High commission in London for further clarification. Generally businesses which are going to create some local employment are looked upon favourably. I do not think owning a small apartment complex will fit into this category, however still double check with the office.
