WhoFan update - Please post a little note!
#1
I thought I would send along an update on Linzi who went back to Lancashire from Arizona last year. I am fortunate to be friends with her on facebook as I don't think she has posted in a long time.
She has been very unwell, and now can no longer work, at least for the foreseeable future. I will not post the details as I respect her privacy. If she wishes she may do so herself.
So I am just asking all of you who remember her, and how encouraging she was for so many of us on BE, to take time to post a little something to brighten her day.
Thank you dear Brits!

I also believe she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia if I recall a post she made towards the back end of last year. That can be a physically exhausting condition and I can understand why she may not be able to continue with the job she had when she first returned. Hopefully rest will allow her to figure out how to manage the condition and she can be back on her feet soon as I do remember she was doing a lot of walking and visiting new places on her days off.
Take care Whofan and hope too hear from you soon.

To my dear friends on BE, thank you so much for your wonderful words of support. It did indeed cheer me up to come on here to read what you wrote.
I've had so much going on health wise that I'm sorry I just haven't been able to come on here to see what everyone has been up to and update you all with my goings on. As Liz and Perth know I've managed to go onto Facebook a couple of times to check in there, but I get tired very easily so I'm not online for long.
For the past couple of months it seems like anything that could go wrong with me, did! As most of you know I have fibromyalgia, which I was able to control to a degree with tablets, at least enough to be able to function without too many difficulties. But it gradually got tot he stage where even those tablets weren't doing anything to take away the pain. Then I got a very bad gastro bug which had me in bed for over a week, and before I could even recover completely from that I immediately got a bad chest infection. I didn't know whether I was coming or going..lol. To top it all off my liver decided it was going to give up on me and I ended up in hospital because the paracetamol in the medication I was taking, was just building up in my system and not going anywhere so it was in effect a paracetamol overdose. I was apparently so close to complete liver failure and I was admitted and pumped full of these really AWFUL drugs to counter-act the damage to my liver, and to reduce the high levels and give it a chance to recover. Luckily the liver can bounce back although I'be been told I'm going to have to be very careful what I take over the next 3 months if not longer.
Then shortly after being discharged I started having excrutiating pain in my bones..the actual bone itself not just the joints. It felt like everything was happening at once and I didn't have time to recover from any of them. My energy levels plummeted and I started to be tired all the time, with no energy just lots of pain.
So now I'm having more tests to determine the cause of all this pain and lethargy. They've thrown at me the possible results of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so I'm adding that to the list of things wrong with me..lol.
I can no longer enjoy the long walks in the country.Gone are the days where I would just go out and walk for 5 hours. There are days when i can barely get out of bed, but on the 'good' days I feel a sense of achievement if I can walk to the end of the road. I need a cane to hold onto because I have trouble making my legs work properly. From the back I'm sure it looks like I'm drunk because of the way I walk
As Perth mentioned I've had to give up work hopefully temporarily and I'm on sickness benefits so I at least have some money coming in. I'm just not able to stand for any great length of time and the same goes for sitting and moving around in general.
Hopefully the Dr's can figure out what they are going to do, but at the moment we're just waiting for the results of the blood tests which hopefully won't point in a more serious direction. Sufficed to say I look out the window and see the beautiful hills and wish I could go up them again, so I'm staying positive and exercising as much as my body will allow, pushing myself a little more each time just to get out and about. I go to the canal where I sit and watch the ducks and rest, all in preparation for the walk back.
So it's onward and upward and I'm not going to let this beat me!
I've way too much to see yet and too many walks left to do.
