Because while the British people have been 'cowed' into being respectful of everyone else's traditions and rituals, their own way of life has been eroded, ignored and trodden under foot.

Since when did English law not apply to special interest groups?

When did our animal rights' rules and regulations not be applicable to other's religious views?

Shameful.....

There is also a wider issue of abuse at slaughterhouses which is well-known, mentioned at the end of the article:

"However, she said such treatment was unrelated to religious practice and called for CCTV to be placed in every abattoir.

Earlier films at slaughterhouses that did use stunning had shown animals being punched in the head, burnt with cigarettes, beaten with sticks, given electric shocks with stunning tongs, thrown and kicked."

Kosher would also need to be outlawed.

Not defending it, personally I would happily give up eating meat again. But I think the item's focus requires balance.

Because they are so scared of being deemed racist that they won't do anything about Muslim practices?

On which grounds do you come to think that such abuses didn't occur in UK (and other) slaughterhouses 15 years ago? Or 30? Or 50?

I personally don't know how abattoirs are currently regulated in general, any abuse should be against the law, but it seems this 'religion' gets special dispensation in law to carry out their primitive rites.

And no requirement for labeling? That's outrageous.

Is it now? I'm not someone who gives a flying one on the issue, but is GM food labelled in your country of residence?

Interesting.

Two good examples of Logical Fallacy.

Historical Fallacy and False Equivalence.

Thanks.

Is this 'religion' Judaism or Islam?

Did you never hear about abuses in slaughterhouses of all types?

Why start a thread with a daft inflammatory title with one clear target?

Something that interests me on BE is the definition of British.

The British people have been cowed.

So Muslims cannot be British.

Jews, well they conduct ritual slaughter but we don't hate them so much.

We are all white, and sort of Christian; nominally; well we like Christmas. Don't say Happy Holidays!

Personally I would like to see the site become more inclusive. Sure there are issues around ritual slaughter. But this is just another stick to beat Muslims with.
