Great photos. Thank you. I had a Tiger 90 myself in 1969, but being only a teenager, wrote it off pretty quickly.

When I lived in a village in Kent some twenty years ago, there used to be a very large group of English bikes come through. Every Spring Bank Holiday I think.

A deep slow rumble you could hear for miles, but somehow not as intrusive as the higher pitched noise of modern bikes.

Eep! linked wrong pic.

[Edit] And It looks like I FUBARed the upload of the scan... Here.. have a pic of my old Triumph 5TA to make up for it. A work in progress.

Dunno the bike age... Pic was taken around 1980 I think.

I remember lacing up that rear wheel was a bitch.

Was a lovely old bike. My main job was to run back and pick up my grandfathers cap when it blew off.

Nor me, and it seems to confuse the hell out of GIS as well.

I'm hoping for something with an Elephant gun holster and a comfy seat for the memsahib.

heartbreakingly lovely, accessible countryside
genuine, self-effacing people (not excluding Facetious Pedants) who are kind to animals
stunning architecture – cathedrals to cottages
British TV
British food
short distances, easy transportation
mild climate
complete absence of deadly marsupials
contempt for Americans (oops, did I say that?)
above all, it is home.

With your permission, I shall now cry.
