Today is the day! Mrs T comes back
I've missed her 6 or 7 weeks away in Korea looking after her Dad. Lots of discussions to be had re our future direction and which location that will be.
But for now, champagne is in the fridge (half a glass for me as I have a big race coming coming up) and I think a sunset picnic down by the canal might be in order.
(assuming we get off the M25 before midnight

Ahhh, got it. Did you see the movie "Something's gotta give" (Jack Nicholson)? Saw it this weekend, very funny. Anyway, there was a scene where JN had a minor cardiac event and asked his doctor if his heart would stand up to some you-know-what. The doc (Keanu Reeves) said as long as he could walk up a flight of stairs, he'd be able to ... etc.

Re: Today is the day! Mrs T comes back
Bit of background: I'm not enjoying my role much as it focuses on one aspect of my skill set that I don't enjoy much. Our flat is lovely, very spacious, overlooks the Surrey Hills and we have views of the canal with narrow boats and everything. However we don't enjoy it much here because there are kids upstairs and we get a lot of 'bump bump bumping' when they run around. It's not their fault, just the way the place is built.
So we want to move anyway.
The good news is that I've had an interview for a role which is tailor made for me and the feedback has been good. 2nd interview next week so fingers crossed there. The role is in Oxford so we'll have to move (but want to anyway so no great shakes there). What this does mean that Mrs T can't look for a role until I know what's happening with my prospective role.
Mrs T has a much more settled outlook on things here now so this is what we have decided.
Wait and see what happens with this new opportunity. If I get it then it's full steam ahead, move to Oxford and Mrs T looks for a role from there. If I don't get it then carry on in my current role and Mrs T looks for a role based from where we are now. If nothing is forthcoming for her after 3-4mths then we'll sit down and talk again.
Sounds a bit vague but the bottom line is currently neither of us are in a situation we really want so if one of us gets really sorted then it'll be a better platform to move forward on. That aside we are both enjoying being here, and she is making big efforts to make the most of the lovely weather and surroundings here.
In other news I have my big big race coming up soon (2.4mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26mile run) on Aug 8th. Most of my training is done and I'm really looking forward to it. Oh and Mrs T bought 5 pairs of shoes and a top on the weekend.
