It really is the best option. I find if someone prefers the constant glass half empty view then good luck to them but I certainly wont get dragged down by it.

We've been through this elsewhere. The glass is always full. Varying percentages of liquid and air.

Unless you're in a vacuum. Actually, most of the people in this thread are in a vacuum. On both sides

Average weekly earnings in the UK is currently at 2002 levels. It's dropped every year from 2008-2013, squeezing those who are in work against the backdrop of (sharply) increasing utility and housing costs.

Average real weekly earnings. So, bad though this is, it does take into account inflation over that period.

Given the financial crisis, it doesn't seem bad to me at all. It is not a realistic expectation that everyone should get richer year by year indefinitely and forever.
