Beautiful pictures of Pashley Manor Gardens. Visited in 2023 during the summer, so the gardens were in full summer bloom.
Met a car enthusiast there who was expecting his club and other enthusiasts to arrive for an informal car meet - unfortunately only a few turned up, much to Pashley Manor's owner's chagrin (Mr. Sellick) as he had ordered additional food for the restaurant to accommodate them.!
The restaurant food/menu is very good by the way........

Pashley Manor Gardens are indeed a beautiful place and I can understand Mr Sellick's disappointment.

The day I visited the garden saw a very "unseasonal" 29o celcius on 01/05 so the beautiful buffet on offer was too rich for the occasion which is the reason why I did not mentioned lunch in my comments but we were incredibly lucky to still find gorgeous Spring blooms despite the heat.

Funny that you mentioned car enthusiasts as my next post will be about Eastbourne's Magnificent Motors Classic Car Show just a few miles, once again in East Sussex !

We travelled to Eastbourne on a sunny day on 03/05 for the Magnificent Motors Classic Cars Show.

Magnificent Motors is established as one of the biggest motoring spectaculars on the south coast featuring over 600 classic cars held each May on Eastbourne beautiful Seafront 😊

Eastbourne is a beautiful seaside resort town on England’s southeast coast.

More than 25 car clubs regularly attend the festival, so festival-goers can expect to see cars with marques from the likes of Jaguar Enthusiast Club, Mini Club Sussex, Austin 7, Aston Martin and Easy Company Ltd, a military vehicle group and many more.

The show takes place on the seafront on the Western Lawn & Wish Tower Slopes accessible from the beautiful King Edward's Parade Road with its grand Victorian buildings.

On the seafront are Victorian hotels and the famous 19th-century Eastbourne Pier.

The Eastbourne Pier Company was registered in April 1865 with a capital of £15,000 and on 18 April 1866 work began.

It was opened by Lord Edward Cavendish on 13 June 1870, although it was not actually completed until two years later.

On New Year's Day 1877 the landward half was swept away in a storm. It was rebuilt at a higher level, creating a drop towards the end of the pier.

The pier is effectively built on stilts that rest in cups on the sea-bed allowing the whole structure to move during rough weather.

Paddle steamers (such as the PS Brighton Queen and the PS Devonia) operated by P and A Campbell ran trips from the pier along the south coast, to the Isle of Wight and across the Channel to Boulogne.

I have loved visiting the Magnificent Motors Classic Cars Show in sunny Eastbourne and loved the relaxed atmosphere of it with the proud car owners sitting down enjoying a light lunch with a drink, having a chat amongst themselves or with the many car enthusiasts in front of the beautiful Victorian hotels and the sea as a background.

I then enjoyed a lovely light lunch on the go on the sea front at Bistrot Pierre with gorgeous views of the beach.

And I finally walked 6 miles return by the seafront to the Sovereign Yacht Harbour where I enjoyed a rather delicious Apple Crumble Sundae Ice Cream with caramelised Apples in the bottom watching the fishing boat coming back to port with its catch of the day
