Now I'm going to sound like somebody's Mother - but - are you wearing cotton socks. You should not have synthetic fabrics - they trap the sweat and make eczema worse. And do you have to wear shoes all the time in the house - can you let air get to your feet, in other words. Over and out - let's hear what the over-the-water specialist says - at least you don'e need your passport!
and never take what you have got for granted, I know I wont anymore,
Thanks for the advice Rosie but I only wear white cotton socks, and I always just wear slippers walking around house but take them off while watching TV to let air get to them,
Take care,
Rodney.

Yes do keep us updated Rodney, I hope all goes well and listen to Rosie and TT and wear your little cotton socks!!
OOohh just think you are going on a ferry to another town, a wee adventure. Is the ferry free?
Cheers found out that in Merseyside the pass covers ferries too.

But surely there's a 3-month waiting period even for emergencies. I know because I read it in the Daily Mail
So glad you're getting taken care of so quickly and let's hope they can get it back under control.
I just had to look up Gosport because I've heard of it but had no idea where it was. It's shocking how ignorant I am about England. I can't wait to travel around seeing everything when I get back.

Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK - Part II
Ive suffered with this for 40 years or more since my Australian days, gradually through the years it has got worse and worse, the heat of Las Vegas desert definitely made it worse, I really have been ignoring my current condition as it has got worse over the last 18 months or so since I was working at my last Job in Vegas cause although they offered health insurance, I couldn't afford the weekly deduction of $65 --- I only took home as it was $200 week, ------ so I am really happy that I am in the land of good health insurance where I can get treated and not ever have to worry about bills coming in the mail again, I feel very fortunate to be finally back home and I dont mind telling you it feels good to be back, --- back with my people, and back in a country that actually looks after its people in a big way, I take my hat off to the United Kingdom, I say to all of its people be proud to be British,
and never take what you have got for granted, I know I wont anymore,

$200 a week in Vegas, Wow how you ever made it blows my mind.
And to think back 12 months ago, you were happy in Vegas and just considering a move, it was a question you threw at us if I remember correctly, Now Look at you, your laughing pal...

Ha Ha Sally yes the daily mail and a lot of Americans would have us all to believe there is a minimum wait of 3 months to see a specialist --- even for emergencies, even if you cant even walk anymore like me at the moment, and cant even sleep cause the relentless itching keeps you awake most of the night,

Posted today under Media Requests.
BBC Radio 4 - looking for returning Ex Pats
I'm making a documentary for BBC Radio 4 about ex-pats who are returning to the UK for the first time in many years.
Ideally I'm trying to find people who haven't been back to the UK for a long time, so they can describe the UK and how it's changed since they left, through fresh eyes.

I forgot to answer a question Sally had asked me - on which posting I no longer remember! It was about my Arts event - it went well, I have now been drafted into organising the next 3 events, writing grant proposals (!). And tonight is a community meeting at the Cheese and Grain (that was for Barb's benefit) about a proposed development at Saxonvale; tomorrow is a private meeting at someone's house regarding the Green Fair later in the year. I have done community events organising before - ran the Duluth Farmers Market Earth Day Event 2007 single handed, for example. So perhaps I can get some paid work from all this community activity. Got to go - taking my new elderly friend to the library to look about her joining a poetry group! Busy - at last! Will be on here later. Good morning to you all.
