Default Moving it all in a hurry - where to start?

We have been settled back in the UK now for almost two years but still haven't shipped all our stuff which has been sitting in storage in Australia.

Sad family circumstances are such that we must soon return to sort it all out and will only have a fortnight in which to do everything.

Can any BE's please give advice on how to condense a full house sort, sell, pack and ship (from a storage unit) in the space of two weeks?

I really don't know where to start...

My advice: don't try to sell stuff. When we went to Canada we had three months to organise our move, but I found trying to sell stuff in that time took too long, and was very time wasting. Give stuff away to neighbours and charity. Take as much stuff to the dump as you can. Pack the rest.

We did it in 4 days.

I got a job offer on the Tuesday night while living in Oz but the condition was I needed to start the following Tuesday in the UK. Which meant I had to be on the flight on the Saturday.

We sold pretty much everything except 8 boxes of personal items.

Gumtree will be your good friend. Get pictures of everything you want to sell and get adverts up. Also, make up some fliers and put them up in your local IGA and things - we sold about half of our stuff from 1 flyer!

Arrange the things you want to keep into some boxes and book a move cube - you can do this on line. The smallest one is still surprisingly spacious.

We also had a garage sale for a lot of the smaller stuff - that was actually on the day I was leaving! Don't be afraid to do some selling to get things gone. I ended up towards the end of the garage sale with still a lot of stuff when a guy came to look at a few bits that he was interested in using for a charity sale. I offered him a deal - take everything including some of the junk and he can have it for a massive discount. Worked.

If its a good area for garage sales i'd do that. Sell all you can and charity shop the rest.
Just keep what you need and pack and ship with something like Upak
We filled a wooden crate and shipped with a world wide shipping company. Rainer.
