Train to Wemyss Bay (see videoclip above) from Glasgow Central and then ferry. Come and have a look at my wind-swept domain. Port Bannatyne has the cheapest seafront properties in The Realm ! We have to do something to reverse depopulation !

I have accepted this invitation and taken a virtual trip to Port Bannatyne. Wemyss Bay Railway Station is indeed most impressive.
So having arrived off the ferry at Rothesay, I took a virtual taxi to Port Bannatyne and started a virtual pub crawl. So far the Port Inn, the Anchor Tavern, and the Russian Tavern seem most agreeable (hic).

When you get back to the mainland have a look at the (now closed) international airport at Largs. In 1945 there were flights (in Catalinas) to Reykjavik.

Susan Calman on TV is great viewing.Like Paul Merton, she has a very pleasing manner which makes the programme interesting.Especially for myself as I am seeing parts of Scotland I visited or lived in so many years ago.

Like others, I am deeply suspicious of the BBC and the "celebrities" it has created. Too often they turn out to be monsters. Should I remind you of that one who would reportedly "fix it"
