Of course the rich and famous don't move to Canada. Two major features of Canada are:

- the definition of a successful Canadian is one who moved on. Typically to the US but in some cases, Conrad Black springs to mind, to the UK.

- nothing ever happens in Canada. Since I've been here the biggest change has been the wide availability of quality baguettes.

These features make the place either a miracle of equality and stability or a mire of dreary mediocrity depending on your point of view. Posh wouldn't come here because there's no fashion in Canada, maybe she looks iconic in Manchester but here she looks like some kind of insect.

That because one fair description of Canada would be 'dull and overrated'

It’s not a bad place, but it isn’t great either.....

Surely his hagiographer, Peter C. Newman, is worse. His account of Barbara Amiel introducing Mr. Black to blow jobs gave me a queer feeling from which I don't suppose I shall ever recover.

WTF is that all about....just Victoria Beckham posing for no apparent reason...is this something to be celebrated.....the Hello and OK celebrity fawning leaves me cold.....I always thought that Victoria didn't like Manchester.

have you even listened to the links that you posted ?

Not everyone on there was for Manchester developments !!!

i agree with you that nothing happens here. like no celebs, no football, no clubs, no proper news, rotton tv and radio and no good bands either. and dont get me on the beer and food again. regadless of what you say about the uk all the famous people want to be there and british beer and curry is world famous.not sure i understand the rest though. are you saying Posh is an insect? i hope your not insulting her as she is a world famous celeb and always in the news so i dont know what you mean.

one other think for you canada lovers. the queen dosent live here does she? so think about that even though she is the queen of canada and a lot of the world to she choses to lives in the UK. bet she even finds it boring and backwards here. bet canadian politicians have to go to london to get her to approve things as she wont come here. she should tell the government of canada to smarten up and let people enjoy themselves more and no more stupid rules. canada is like a wayword child needs some discipline. a few sappers here would soon samrten up these canuks.

To say that I regret that decision, and have had to live with the consequences from that decision, is an understatement.

You sound like us. We too traded in our careers in London where we were paid approx £70k plus commissions and sold our Herts home for our dream life in America. We do not regret our decision to move to the USA and have had some amazing experiences.... we've done a hell of a lot in the last 5 years. However, we are very aware that if we ever want to get those London careers back (more so for hubby than me as I now have 2 little ones to care for), we better do something about it before we get into our 40's. After working in London, everywhere else seems sooooo slooooow, do you know what I mean? The one thing that is gutting is the realisation that currently there is no way at all we could afford to live in our old neighbourhood, and definately couldn't afford our old house or anything similar. Compared to now, we really didn't realise how well off we were when we were in the UK that's for sure. You arrive in the USA (Canada etc...) and you compare everything. We walked around all the shops going 'wow.... look at how cheap everything is compared to the UK' but you adjust and then suddenly it's not that everything in the USA is cheap anymore but that everything is the UK is SO expensive.
I wish we could have seen into the future and protected our assets better. Living here in the USA has cost us a lot of money and if we move back, it will definately be more of a struggle than when we left.

I'm saying that she is extraordinarily ugly. I'm saying that, in large sunglasses, she resembles an insect. Being a sleb doesn't make you attractive, Britney Spears is a sleb, Tom Cruise is a sleb (not that those two have heard of Manchester), Idi Amin Dada was a sleb - some of the world's weirdest are slebs.

That said, I'd do her ahead of Michael Jackson.

i dont agree i dont think shes ugly at all but supposse its what you think is beautful. also all the clebs you mentioned except that idi amin dada? are attractive. most clebs are very attractive in my opinion. you have to be attractive not ordinary to be a cleb. but you have your point of view no biggy (lol). no clebs here though attractive or even ugly ones. we agree on that. dont think id do micheal jackson at all hes a bit wasted!
