Through a search on 192.com, I have located someone from my past that lives at a residential house address in the NW of England known to me as being the likely one.

Unfortunately I cannot find a phone number & after checking the BT phone directory it shows no listing. I figure they likely have a Virgin media or talk-talk or some other provider service.

I would like to call this person rather than write to them

Can anyone suggest how to find a residential phone number for a known name & an address?

I doubt you can, they may well be, as we are, ex-directory, something that is routinely offered to people in residential homes.

I think there are still different levels of ex-directory.

It used to be that you could select never to have your number revealed - or if someone rang directory enquiries and requested your number supplying both name and address it could be given - http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/d...ry-services%3F

Don't know how this works with other telephone providers though

Ring a relative and ask for the number.
