Default Diana Concert

I am sitting here bawling my eyes out, yearning so so much to be back home. I am really enjoying the concert on TV. I used to work at Wembley stadium many years ago.
I'm a 40 something grandma now reliving my youth listening to all the stars. Brian Ferry, Duran Duran, Rod Stewart, Elton John. My youth is flooding back.
Boy oh boy i cant wait to be back there and feel alive again!! It is ramming home big time just how much i miss it all.

I am dead and void here, but thanks to this concert this evening i feel very much alive singing along to all the songs.

I'm a silly old mare arent i?

Hi Flea! Not a silly old mare at all - I watched the concert on and off yesterday - thought it was fab and yes it did make me feel proud to be British, royal family and all that - the new Wembley stadium looks fantastic doesn't it?

I wanted to watch it, but several channels were not working when it was on, and that was one of them. Stupid cable company. :curse:

I thought the same when he came on 'this modern rubbish - music isn't what it was in our day'
So pleased to see Donny and Duran Duran.
Think we are in the same age group!

FleaFly...

Know what u mean about the Diana concert..I had a real yearning to be back in the UK..and a feeling of pride to be British..lovely Prince William (swoon!)..

Keep thinking about her death being 10 years ago...and thinking of still being in Oz 10 years from now..is enough to give me nightmares!!

Hope you get back home soon where you belong!!!

Hi all,

We went to the concert on Sunday and it was great! Some of the acts were a bit boring to be honest, Elton John at the beginning singing your song made me a bit tearful and also when they showed Diana at Thorpe Park with the boys on the log flume. Rod Stewart was the best performer, and I don't even particularly like him but he really got the crowd going. We couldn't believe what great seats we had, Jamie Oliver was a couple of rows in front and the princes were sitting in the box above us, we were watching them dance and they looked so normal!! A great day was had and the stadium is fantastic. The only thing we thought was that the security was rubbish. We just walked straight in, could have had a gun or anything. Went up on the train and that was good as it now goes from Beaconsfield straight to the stadium, no tubes or changing trains, took 15mins.

It's so good to be back and able to do things like that, Legoland later today!! Hope you're not TOO jealous!!

Glad you had a great time Jo. I ma looking forward to seeing the new stadium. I bet it looks very different from when i worked there. That was about 23yrs ago.

Hi Nu Shooz. Good question. What AM i doing here?! lol
In short, when my kids left home, i had not long been married to my second husband who is a kiwi. We decided it was time for me to broaden my horizons and see a bit of the world as i had spent all my adult life from the age of 18 rearing kids.
We started off in France for a couple of months, then over to the carribean, then to New Zealand for a couple of years. During our stay there an ex colleague of my husband offered him a good job in Australia so we decided to go for it. We had never been here, had nothing to keep us in NZ so hopped across the ditch. Somehow we just got stuck here! Been out of UK for 7yrs all up.
Now i have got the wanderlust out of my system i cannot wait to get back home. I will still look forward to trips and travelling, but keep myself based amid my loved ones.
