I almost never use cheques these days - most things can be done by bank transfer easily enough.... what are you left with that has to be done by cheque?

We were given a cheque book but I dont think we have used it, its very easy to pay everything online.

Yes, that's my experience too....

I just looked at my cheque book stubs and the last cheque I wrote was almost a year ago (March last year) for ski rental gear for my son... that's a very informal place and she's not set up to take card payments, but I bet if I asked her I could do a transfer online to her bank.

I'd prefer a cash free society, but I'm not sure everyone could manage their financial affairs without actually having the 'reddies' in their hand.
