Returnee, do you have friends and family where you are? Do you have interests and hobbies and places to be?

If yes, why waste time on a forum for people who want to live in a place you view as horrible? Go out, enjoy where you are, live a little!

If no, and posting negative things here is what you do to keep yourself busy, then dude, maybe it's time to take a good look in the mirror and think about how you're spending your life.

Personally I done with this thread and with you. I tried to help but you don't want help. I hope you find something fun to do with your time - Lord knows we only have a little bit of it to use. Good luck!

 you called him dude, you are so American

So, are you saying, Sally, you will only accept positive comments about Britain and anyone who points out the problems which might affect anyone thinking of returning is basically wasting their time and is a Troll? Anyway, I do have family, relatives in England. They for the most part are doing okay, but they are concerned about the changing face of society and basic amenities, such as the NHS. I also have interests other than posting messages on here. Cheers Dude :)

Or the surge in UK exports?

The clinic to help children who stammer

Hunting

Jonathan Ross's BBC contract (that's in the Mail)

"Blind date couple" together after 20 years (that's in the Mail too)

The landmark pensions ruling

Road sign improvements

Late opening for pubs

I found these just on the Guardian, Mail and Independent for the last 24 hours.

But, if I were living in America or Australia, for example, I may not be so critical. I'm not a 'troll.' Just a realistic poster who wishes to hear some personal experiences...
So why not encourage debate about some positive things to help inform people returning or considering returning from other than Japan.

After all, you did say

And guess what? Here in my part of Oregon, our recycle bins are only emptied one every two weeks. Also, overfill your bin and it will be emptied, but you'll have extra added to the next bill.

A little late to this one. Sorry. Anyway, here's my tuppence worth. The local "news channel" in my part of the world has a policy of not reporting suicides, job losses, businesses closing, etc. Typical local, small town, USA news. Reporting in the UK is almost the polar opposite. I'm sure we could all post story after story of how horrible life back home is. The truth as I'm told by family and friends is very different of course.

Okay. Here is some good news:
Around 500 people have been demonstrating through the night outside St Paul's Cathedral after a day of protest in London's financial district. Part of a worldwide protest against "corporate greed" inspired by the US's Occupy Wall Street movement, between 2,000 to 3,000 protesters took part. As night fell in London approximately 70 tents were pitched at the foot of the steps of St Paul's by protesters. :)

Dear Fellow Posters.

At the moment there is a troll controlling the posts on those forum, by direct posting and then the many responses to that. Since it doesn't seeem to be being removed, I have decided to ignore all posts by this person and I encourage all to do the same. Even the replies are becoming a bit boring.

Let's take back control of our thread and just continue as if nothing was posted by this poster.

Linda
