I love Glossop too, I have a cousin who lives there and was trying to persuade us to move to the area. I love the peak district national park and have spent many a day walking the hills....

I am sooo looking forward to moving to bollington,the locals call it 'happy valley' which is also the name of the local web site for the area. The people are very friendly and it has a great comunity feel. I have bought in the old part of the village in the conservation area oposite a farm and has great views of 'white nancy' fom the back.........

Lots of people spend too much over Christmas and need a couple months to get it all paid off, which is in time for Spring when they emerge again in time to play footie on the village green and then long summer nights sitting outside and enjoying a drink at the pub or a walk on the beach.

We are still renting and would settle but our sons might have a change of Uni to Crewe via MMU and my OH might be based in Warrington so we may either have lots of travel to do if we stay or move to a more convienient area....life...never easy...a bit like being a city fan....we watched the game on our laptop ...Sad or what....and as per usual we make it hard for ourselves....life is never dull though....lol

I guess its me thats changed because my home town of leicester hasnt changed much and yet it just looks a lot worse to my eyes.

Its just after having seen so much incredible stuff in australia I am struggling to adjust again.
Going in country pubs that are tiny and like someones living room for a drink, when I think I could be in a massive casino instead.

I am wondering why I came back, and trying to fight the urge to jump on a plain back to aus.

Has anyone had a similiar feeling?

That is my neck of the woods and I wouldn't be moving back to Lancaster in a hurry. It was very run down when we went back last year, not the place I grew up in for sure. Think about work and where you need to be close to before you decide on an area.
