Any Lurkers fancy de-lurking?
I not really a true lurker since I do post but maybe I'm a semi-lurker as I don't post a lot.
Just wondered who else is out there reading and plotting a move back to the UK? Go on take the plunge and tell us what your moving status is.

I'm not really a lurker, or thinking of moving back, but I do like looking at houses - and never say never. If I moved back though it would be from a stone farmhouse with 7 acres to something the price of an ex-council semi (which is what we moved from!). I'd probably buy something like this or this - enough room for the dog and some chickens!
And what's your moving status?

Looking at moving back before September 2016. Still trying to figure out how to beef up the savings so we qualify.

I'm planning on an initial mini-move. That is, I'm getting a winter rental of a holiday cottage for TEN WEEKS, January through March, 2014. I plan to be in England for ten or eleven weeks, and my wife may join me for a week or two at some point.
As we are retired, we want to start exploring whether to move to the UK full time, or somehow split our time between the two countries long term. We are aware of the tax complications this would stir up. Also, my wife is just a US citizen, since she failed to get her British citizenship back in the 80s when we last lived there ... so there are a few decisions and challenges ahead of us.

Go on then - I've been lurking for three years. We've been in Peoria and now have confirmed our move back to the UK. House is being packed early in January with a mid Jan move - we have a small hurdle first with our second American baby coming along in December. Looking forward to family, sausage rolls and HP sauce and driving back home - and not neccesarily in that order!

Planning a move back July 2014 to the Warwickshire area, close to my family. Can't wait.
